Marsha Thompson - Delayed but Not Denied

Those were the words uttered by 48-year-old, Marsha Thompson, one of the recipients of the National Housing Trust’s (NHT) Perth Phase Two Housing Development in Manchester.

The journey home for Marsha was an interesting one, as her property search initially led her to a home on the open market. On the day of the viewing, she fell ill, and said it was so bad she ended up cancelling her visit. As fate would have it, she got a call the very next day informing her she was selected for a two-bedroom house at the NHT’s Perth Housing Scheme.

NHT accepting applications for SMART Energy Grant

The National Housing Trust, NHT, is accepting applications for its Smart Energy Grant for public sector pensioners from Tuesday, October 1, 2024, to Friday, October 4.

The Smart Energy Grant, which forms part of a series of policy changes implemented by the NHT on July 1, will see public sector pensioners being able to access up to $1.5 million to enhance their homes with a solar panel system. The Grant will benefit 30 pensioners per parish each year, providing a total of 420 grants per year for the next three (3) years.

NHT stages second Home It! Expo in Montego Bay, St. James

Over 200 eager individuals braved the overcast skies and rain forecast to attend the NHT's second staging of the Home It! Expo at The Harmony Beach Park in Montego Bay, St. James on Saturday, October 27th.

Sabrena McDonald-Radcliffe, the NHT’s Assistant General Manager of Advertising and Sales, indicated that the Home It! Expo was created to educate Jamaicans about the NHT’s diverse product offerings and to empower them with the relevant skills needed to navigate property ownership successfully.

In preparation for the impending hurricane, the National Housing Trust (NHT) advises that it will close all locations, including branch offices, service centers, and the corporate office, to the public at 12:00 pm on Tuesday, July 2, 2024. This closure is to facilitate members of staff to complete personal preparations and to effect business shutdown protocols.

 

Our offices will remain closed on Wednesday July 3, 2024
