NHT Contributors to apply for Hurricane Beryl Relief by September 30, 2024

The National Housing Trust (NHT) has commenced receiving applications for the disaster relief facilities set up to assist contributors affected during the passage of Hurricane Beryl. Applications must be made by September 30, 2024.

The facilities include a special loan arrangement to effect repairs to damaged homes and a grant of up to $300,000. A special moratorium is also available to existing NHT mortgagors who are having difficulties meeting their mortgage payments at this time, as a result of the hurricane.

NHT Wins Inaugural Public Sector Productivity Competition

The National Housing Trust, NHT, are winners of the inaugural Public Sector Productivity Competition. The announcement was made at an awards ceremony, on Friday June 21, 2024. 

The competition, which was organised by the Jamaica Productivity Centre (JPC), through the Ministry of Labour and Social Security, was geared towards encouraging public bodies to implement innovative strategies to improve productivity and service delivery.

Second NHT Statement on Guaranteed Purchase Programme

The National Housing Trust (NHT) wishes to reiterate its position on the Guaranteed Purchase Programme (GPP), and to address a few matters that have been raised in light of continued reporting on a terminated agreement under the programme. The NHT has not signed a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) neither has the NHT at any point during the claim against Dexim Holdings, sought to keep any elements of the arrangements secret. The claim made by the NHT proceeded to mediation.
