Ms. Chevannes is an Attorney-at-Law who has worked at the Private and the Public Bar for a combined period of over 29 years. She has served the NHT since 2002, firstly in the capacity of Legal Counsel and then in the capacity of Assistant General Manager, Legal Services Department (Legal Conveyancing).
In her current position as General Counsel, Legal Services she directs the legal affairs of the NHT. She leads a team of professionals who provide a wide spectrum of legal services to the NHT in the areas of Conveyancing, Contract, Construction and Litigation to safeguard the interests of the NHT and to support the achievement of its strategic and operational targets aimed towards improved housing access, financial performance, efficiency and performance management.
Ms. Chevannes holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Language and Literature from the University of the West Indies (Mona), a Bachelor of Laws Degree from the University of the West Indies (Cave Hill) and a Certificate of Legal Education from the Norman Manley Law School. She is a member of the Jamaica Bar Association.
