To be eligible, you must be a homeowner, who is a current NHT contributor, and either an NHT mortgagor, former NHT mortgagor, or Non-NHT mortgagor, who sustained damage to your property during the passage of Hurricane Melissa.
Applicants should own the property on which they intend to undertake the repairs.
Yes. All homeowners (i.e. named on title) who are current contributors may apply for the loan.
Yes. The second mortgage and Pari Passu arrangements will apply. Where certain underwriting requirements may not be met by the applicant, these should be referred to the Branch or Service Centre Manager for review.
You may access up to $3.5 million per collateral for this Hurricane Relief Loan (subject to affordability).
You may co-apply with other qualified NHT contributors once all names are on the title. For co-applicants, the combined loan amount will not exceed $3.5 million.
The loan will be calculated at a fixed interest rate of 2%.
No. These loans will be processed directly by the NHT. Pari Passu or Second Mortgage processing will apply.

The loan term is for a maximum of 20 years or up until age 70, whichever comes first.

Yes. You may still access a Hurricane Relief Loan if you have already accessed any NHT loan facility. This includes Open Market, Scheme, 7/10/15 Plus or Home Improvement loans, etc.
No. This is a one-time offer.
Yes. However, the objective of the Hurricane Relief Loan is to support immediate repairs to the damaged property. This will be an expedited process which has not been extended to the other loan facilities.

The loan will be disbursed in keeping with the process established for Construction -type loans. That is, the Projects Department will recommend disbursement/s upon milestones of work.
