The Hurricane Relief Grant provides financial assistance to contributors who suffered property damage due to Hurricane Melissa.

The Hurricane Relief Grant is a facility the NHT will make available to contributors who sustained damage to their homes as a result of the passage of Hurricane Melissa.

Current NHT contributors who have been affected by the Hurricane may apply for this grant.

To access the Hurricane Relief Grant, applicants must have sustained property damage as a result of Hurricane Melissa. The applicant will be required to show proof of the damage. This will be verified by the Trust.
The grant will be available to current contributor’s subject to need and level of impact.

The registered title or certificate of compliance will be accepted as proof of ownership. Other types of proprietary arrangements where satisfactorily established may also be accepted as proof of ownership (e.g. evidence of payments)

The Hurricane Relief Grant is for a maximum of $500,000 per collateral.

Interested persons will be required to complete the application form and submit along with the supporting documents to the Branch Office/Service Centre.

Yes. Where the parent (e.g. elderly) is not a contributor and their property sustained damage as a result of the hurricane, a child/offspring who is a contributor may apply for the grant on behalf of their parent/s.

Family members falling in the categories of spouses, offsprings, parents and siblings, being contributors, may apply for the grant to be used to effect repairs to the property owned by these immediate family members.

Yes. You may still access a Hurricane Relief Grant if you have already accessed any NHT loan facility. This includes Open Market, Scheme, 7/10/15 Plus or Home Improvement loans etc.

No. Accessing the Hurricane Relief Grant will not exclude you from accessing any other benefit in the future.

Once approved, the Hurricane Relief Grant will be disbursed directly to the applicant.

Yes. You will be able to access the Hurricane Relief Grant once your property sustained damages as a result of Hurricane Melissa and you have met the criteria, regardless of previous grants which you may have benefitted from.

Yes. You will be able to access your contributions refund when it becomes due for refund.
